Job summary

Kimley-Horn in Franklin, Tennessee is seeking a Landscape Architect with 4+ years of experience to join our office. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on a wide range of projects from mixed-use developments to parks and civic spaces, guiding design from concept through construction.

You’ll lead design efforts, develop site plans with a strong focus on grading and drainage, and ensure quality through QA/QC.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Landscape Architecture.
  • 4+ years of professional design and production experience.
  • Registered or on-track for PLA/CLA licensure.
  • Strong grading, technical detailing, and construction documentation skills.
  • Experience with QA/QC processes and construction administration.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Land F/X and Adobe Creative Suite; experience with Lumion, SketchUp, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office.
  • Project management experience or a desire to grow into leadership.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • A passion for design excellence, client service, and creating lasting places.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support the design, documentation, and delivery of public and private sector projects.
  • Develop creative, technically sound site planning and landscape design solutions with grading, drainage, and constructability.
  • Prepare and review construction documents, details, and specifications with emphasis on QA/QC.
  • Participate in construction administration, including submittal reviews, RFIs, site visits, and coordination with contractors and clients.
  • Manage tasks, schedules, and budgets while coordinating across disciplines.
  • Mentor junior designers and contribute to team growth and training.
  • Engage directly with clients and city representatives during design and review processes.
  • Contribute to proposals, scope writing, and project presentations.
  • Leverage tools such as AutoCAD Land F/X, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, SketchUp, and GIS to develop and communicate design intent.

Overview

Kimley-Horn is seeking a Landscape Architect with 4+ years of experience to join the Franklin, Tennessee (TN) office!

Responsibilities

You’ll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team on a wide range of project types — from mixed-use and multifamily developments to parks, urban streetscapes, and civic destinations. You’ll take design ideas from concept through construction, contributing to every stage of the process.

  • Lead and support the design, documentation, and delivery of public and private sector projects.
