Job summary

City of Brownwood is seeking a dedicated landfill/recycling attendant to perform litter collection along Rights of Way, maintain facility grounds, and assist with daily operations. The role involves outdoor physical work and learning permit requirements and safety procedures.

Duties include operating light equipment, driving utility vehicles, backhoes, skid steers, and haul trucks, plus routine vehicle maintenance and recycling center tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
• A High school diploma or G.E.D. is preferred; experience is desired but not required, on the job training will be provided.
• Ability to perform physical work outdoors.

Responsibilities

• Collect litter from Rights of Way along major routes to the landfill per permit.
• Operate utility vehicles, backhoes, skid steers, and haul trucks.
• Perform daily maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
• Operate mowers and weed trimmers as needed.
• Assist with Recycling Center duties and cleanup of facility grounds.
