Job summary

Delaware Solid Waste Authority in Georgetown, DE seeks a full-time Operations Skilled Laborer for the Jones Crossroads Landfill. The role supports day-to-day landfill operations, with safety being a top priority as this is a safety-sensitive position requiring drug testing.

Duties include maintaining leachate systems, grounds upkeep, traffic control, heavy equipment operation, inspections, and routine maintenance. A high school diploma and a valid driver's license are preferred; CDL-B is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license; CDL class B preferred.
• No experience required.
• First Aid and CPR certification (training provided by DSWA).

Responsibilities

• Maintains leachate system and loads trucks for shipment.
• Maintains landfill grounds and operates equipment as directed.
• Directs traffic, performs waste screening, and documents receipts.
• Performs maintenance and repairs of facility and infrastructure.
• Operates heavy equipment (bulldozers, graders, excavators) as needed.
• Completes inspection reports and traffic control duties.
