Job summary

The City of Kingsville seeks a dedicated Heavy Equipment Operator to manage the placement, compaction and covering of solid waste at the municipal landfill. You will operate heavy machinery and perform routine maintenance under supervision of the Landfill Supervisor and Foreman.

Requirements include a CDL or ability to obtain within 3 months, two years of operator experience, and a high school diploma or equivalent; candidates must meet driving record and work eligibility standards.

Qualifications

• Commercial Driver's License or ability to obtain within three (3) months
• Two (2) years heavy equipment operator experience
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Proof of Citizenship and /or eligibility to work in the U.S. legally

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment such as landfill compactors, bulldozer, graders, excavators, backhoes, loaders
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and repairs on equipment
• May be required to work extended hours and Saturdays
• Other duties as assigned
