Landfill Equipment Operator

Location: Spanish Fort, Alabama, United States

Summary

The Landfill Equipment Operator is responsible for inspecting incoming waste, managing waste placement on-site, and operating equipment safely and efficiently.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Operate front-end loaders and other heavy equipment.
  2. Understand refuse disposal policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  3. Manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
  4. Follow oral and written instructions.
  5. Maintain written records.
  6. Hear within the normal audio range (with or without correction).
  7. See within the normal visual range (with or without correction).
  8. Exhibit normal body motion range.
Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license for the state of employment with a clean driving record.
  • At least 2 years of experience operating heavy equipment.
  • 24-hour Landfill Operators License preferred.
  • High school Diploma or GED preferred.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Attend and participate in company-sponsored training courses.
  • Stay updated on current technology used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Perform any additional duties assigned by the supervisor.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements

Ability to perform pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting up to 75 pounds throughout the shift, with or without accommodations. Ability to climb into and out of trucks repeatedly.

Work in various environmental conditions, including temperature extremes, weather variations, noise, vibrations, fumes, odors, and dust.
