The Town of Pecos City is seeking a sanitation worker to perform routine waste collection, litter pickup, and general clean‑up duties around the city. The role requires operating equipment, assisting at events, and providing public information on proper dumping and hazardous materials.
Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year in a similar environment, with the ability to work in all weather conditions and lift heavy objects.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following tasks:
General site cleanup/picking up litter. Maintains the city right-of-way by removing litter and illegally dumped items. Regularly monitors areas known for illegal dumping. Delivers dumpsters to assigned locations. Participates in special events and projects as and when needed. Provide information and directions to the public regarding proper dumping and restricted hazardous materials. Provides customer service to the public by providing information as requested.
Must hold and maintain a valid Texas State Driver's license or obtain one within six months of hire.
Weed eater, lawn mower, yard tools, skid steer loader, chain saw, UTV skid sprayer.
Work involves constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises. Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
