Job summary

Montgomery County Government is seeking a Policy Analyst (Land Use Planning Policy Analyst) to advise the County Executive on the impact and status of policies, programs, legislation, and regulations, including land use and subdivision plans. This full-time, merit-term position coincides with the County Executive's term of office.

Qualifications

• Six (6) years of experience developing, analyzing, and coordinating policies including land use and community development.
• Bachelor's degree in planning, public policy/affairs, or law preferred.
• Equivalency: an equivalent combination of education or experience may be substituted.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, review, analyze, and report on policies, regulations, and legislation as they move through the review and approval process.
• Assess effects of policies and legislation on capital and operating budgets.
• Participate in meetings, outreach, and seek input from executive departments, offices, agencies, boards, committees, County Council members and staff.
• Develop and prepare materials, briefing documents, position/policy papers, memoranda, legislation, regulations, and recommendations.
