Grayrock Energy focuses on acquiring, developing, and operating oil and gas properties across established basins, emphasizing disciplined capital allocation and efficient operations. Role Description
Land Technician — Louisiana Assets | Fort Worth, TX

Grayrock Energy is hiring a Land Technician to support our Louisiana asset team from our Fort Worth office.

Grayrock Energy is hiring a Land Technician to support our Louisiana asset team from our Fort Worth office. This is a hands-on land records role for someone early in their career who already knows Louisiana title and lease records and wants to build a long-term path in land. You'll own the accuracy of our lease and ownership data in Peloton LandView, keep obligation and expiration calendars clean, and give our landmen and analysts records they can trust. If you like detail work, enjoy chasing a chain of title to its conclusion, and want visibility into how deals actually get done — this is a good seat.

  • Set up and maintain lease, contract, and ownership records in Peloton LandView — new lease entry, amendments, assignments, ratifications, releases, status changes
  • Track and calendar lease obligations: primary term expirations, delay rentals, shut-in payments, extension/option deadlines, continuous-development requirements
  • Build and update run sheets, lease take-offs, and ownership reports from parish conveyance and mortgage records
  • Calculate and verify WI, NRI, and NMA; assist with division of interest setup and revisions
  • Order, review, and abstract documents from Louisiana Clerk of Court offices and third-party abstractors
  • Pull and reconcile regulatory data from SONRIS and LA Office of Conservation filings — unit orders, plats, permits, well status
  • Support title curative: identify gaps, track outstanding items, prepare curative packages
  • Assist A&D due diligence: data room organization, lease schedules, asset lists
  • Maintain lease files, mapping references, and acreage summaries; coordinate with Accounting on rental/royalty setup
  • Produce recurring and ad hoc reports for Land, Ops, and Reserves teams
  • 2-4 years oil & gas land experience, including direct work on Louisiana assets
  • Experience managing a lease/ownership database of record (Peloton LandView or comparable) with minimal supervision
  • Track record calendaring lease obligations against real deadlines — zero missed expirations
  • Working knowledge of Louisiana land practice: parish conveyance/mortgage records, mineral servitudes & 10-year prescription of nonuse, mineral leases/royalty deeds, Office of Conservation unit orders
  • Ability to read and abstract leases, assignments, deeds, JOAs, and unit designations
  • Comfort with WI/NRI/NMA calculations
  • Strong Excel skills and fluency with land data systems
  • Exceptional attention to detail and deadline follow-through
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.; able to work on-site in Fort Worth
  • Hands-on Peloton LandView experience
  • Haynesville, Tuscaloosa Marine Shale, or Gulf Coast experience
  • GIS/land mapping software familiarity
  • Progress toward NALTA (CPLTA) or AAPL (RPL) certification
  • End-to-end A&D or title curative project experience
  • Competitive base salary, commensurate with experience and LandView proficiency
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with company match
  • PTO and holidays
  • Support for NALTA/AAPL membership, certification, and continuing education
  • A small, visible land team where your work reaches decision-makers directly
