Job summary

Bateman Civil Survey is seeking a trainer and mentor for survey technicians at our USVI office, with responsibilities across St Thomas and St Croix. The ideal candidate will coach field crews, ensure safety and accuracy, and drive continuous improvement in surveying practices.

Requirements include 3–5 years of surveying experience with leadership exposure, the ability to work outdoors in various weather, and familiarity with Trimble software and equipment. A valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3-5 years of surveying experience, with some leadership or supervisory experience.
• Willingness to work outdoors and in various weather conditions.
• Experience in construction staking, boundary, topo, etc.
• Familiarity with Trimble software and equipment.
• Valid driver's license with minimum 5 years driving experience and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of survey technicians to ensure team coordination and effectiveness.
• Coordinate field operations and mentor technicians at the USVI office, including St Thomas and St Croix.

About the position

The individual in this role is responsible for training, mentoring, and evaluating the performance of survey technicians, ensuring the team is well-coordinated and effective. The ideal candidate possesses excellent communication skills, demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities, and shows a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. A deep understanding of advanced surveying technology and methodologies, along with substantial field experience, is essential for success in this role.

This role is based at our USVI office working both on St Thomas and St Croix.
