Job summary

Actalent in Somerville, NJ is seeking an experienced Survey Crew Chief/Party Chief for permanent, on-site work. You will lead field teams, perform boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys, and oversee data collection and quality control on diverse commercial, residential, and infrastructure projects.

This role requires expertise in survey operations, stakeout, and coordination with engineers and clients, with strong knowledge of New Jersey regulations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience in roles such as Survey Crew Chief or Party Chief.
• Strong background in boundary, topographic, ALTA/NSPS, and construction surveys.
• Experience performing construction stakeout and field layout activities.
• Proficiency with LEICA survey equipment.
• Familiarity with land development projects including site plans, subdivisions, grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway design.
• Working knowledge of New Jersey state, county, and local regulations.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage field operations with minimal supervision.

Field Operations

• Primarily works independently in the field on single-person crews.
• May occasionally work as part of a two-person crew based on project needs.
• Responsible for managing field activities and ensuring accurate data collection.

Travel & Vehicle Information

• Reports to the Somerville office each morning.
• Uses a company vehicle to travel between project sites throughout the workday.
• Returns the vehicle to the office at the end of each shift.
• No take-home company vehicle available.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $95000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
