Associate Land Surveyor – Palm Desert, CA (100% In-Office)

Join our team in beautiful Palm Desert, California, where we're seeking an experienced Associate Land Surveyor to play a key leadership role within our surveying operations. This is a full-time, 100% in-office position offering the opportunity to work closely with our Survey Manager on a diverse portfolio of projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional oversight and review of survey work products, coordinating office and field survey activities, and helping ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within budget. You'll serve as a technical resource to the team while supporting the efficient execution of daily operations.

  • Review and oversee survey work products to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance.
  • Manage and coordinate office and field survey workloads under the direction of the Survey Manager.
  • Support project planning, scheduling, and budget management.
  • Collaborate with project teams to deliver high-quality survey services.
  • Assist in maintaining operational efficiency and meeting client expectations.

Responsibilities
  • Provide professional & technical oversight and guidance
  • Perform project research, logistics, and management, review plats, and prepare legal descriptions.
  • Adhere to the company’s policies, safety plan, and the project safety plan. Perform quality control checks on each project, including computations, field book formats, and content.
  • Supervise project field crew(s) and/or serve as field crew chief
  • Work on control, boundary, subdivision, topographic, and design surveys, ALTA /NSPS standards, aerial mapping surveys, and may also perform hydrographic surveying.
  • Accurately run and adjust survey measuring instruments, including digital levels, GPS equipment, and total stations with electronic data‑collecting capabilities.
  • Understand and identify basic sources of measurement errors.
  • Perform mathematical calculations and check field data.
  • Perform data reduction, field note reduction, calculations, data checks, and staking.
  • Computations using survey programs and Civil3D.
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • LSIT Required
  • Professional Land Surveyor registration certification is desired.
  • Must be able to work in the office 100% in Palm Desert, CA
  • A minimum of 5 years of surveying and mapping experience is required

The pay range for this position in California is $40.00 to $50.00 per hr. Base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and location of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
