Job description

A Land Surveyor leads complex surveying projects, manages field/office teams, and ensures accuracy in boundary, topographic, and ALTA surveys using advanced technologies like GIS and drones. They mentor junior staff, oversee CAD drafting, and ensure compliance with regulations. This role demands a professional license (PLS) and 5+ years of experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Plan, organize, and direct survey projects, ensuring quality control, budgetary control, and adherence to deadlines.
  • Technical Expertise: Conduct complex boundary re-establishments, prepare legal descriptions, and manage ALTA/NSPS land title surveys.
  • Data Analysis & Mapping: Process data from field crews using software like AutoCAD/Civil 3D to create accurate maps, plats, and records.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and mentor junior surveyors and field crew members.
  • Field Operations: Oversee the use of GNSS, Total Stations, and drone technology.
  • Liaison: Coordinate with clients, engineers, developers, and government agencies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
  • Licensure: Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Surveying, Geomatics, or Civil Engineering.
  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive experience in land surveying.
