Dewberry is seeking an experienced Land Survey Crew Leader in our Lanham, Maryland office. The role requires supervising the survey crew, coordinating with field staff, and performing boundary, ALTA, and topographic surveys using the latest equipment.

Ideal candidates have at least five years of crew leadership, strong supervisory and mathematical skills, and a valid driver's license. FAA Part 107 and Trimble experience are a plus; willingness to work outdoors in all weather.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years experience as a crew leader.
  • High School Diploma (Minimum).
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Ability to follow directions and ensure procedures are followed.
  • Good mathematical and data collection skills.
  • Experience with Trimble equipment is a plus.
  • FAA Part 107 Certification a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass driving record check.
  • Physically able to work outdoors on construction sites in all weather.

Dewberry is currently seeking an experienced Land Survey Crew Leaderto work in our Lanham, Maryland office location. Applicant must be responsible, highly motivated, and a detail-oriented individual interested in joining our Land Surveying department as a Crew Leader. Applicant must be able to work in a team environment and supervise other members on the survey crew. Applicant must have extensive experience performing boundary, ALTA and topographic surveys, right-of-way acquisition, transmission line, transportation, and construction surveys utilizing the latest equipment and surveying technology. The position has opportunity for advancement for a motivated individual willing to grow with the changing skills and technology required of a crew leader.

Responsibilities
  • Daily coordination with field coordinator, project managers and other office staff.
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
  • Supervise all members of the survey crew.
  • Work independently as a one person crew as required.
  • Daily uploading and downloading of data collectors.
  • Daily care and charging of survey instrumentation.
  • Continually advance knowledge with upgrades in technology and equipment.
Required Skills & Required Experience
  • Minimum of five years experience as a crew leader required.
  • Must have a High School Diploma (Minimum).
  • Must have strong supervisory skills.
  • Must be able to follow directions and assure all procedures and policies are followed.
  • Must have good mathematical skills.
  • Must have good computer and data collector skills.
  • Use/knowledge of Trimble survey equipment a plus. (GPS, Robotics, Total Stations, Levels, and Data Collectors).
  • Use/knowledge of 3-D Scanning a plus.
  • Use/knowledge of UAV Drones a plus.
  • FAA Part 107 Certification a plus.
  • Must have good communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and ability to pass a driving record check.
  • Must pass a drug test if required.
  • Must be dependable.
  • Must be physically able to work outdoors and on construction sites under all weather conditions and terrain.
  • Ability to stoop, crawl, bend at the knees and waist, squat and lift 50 lbs; includes body weight, equipment, tools and boxes, in addition the ability to stand for long periods on varied surfaces.
  • Must be able to work overtime as required.

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $65,000-$84,000 annually in our Lanham, MD office.
