Job summary

The AES Corporation is hiring for a hands-on Land Maintenance role at solar power sites in California. You will perform panel washing, vegetation control, and equipment operation while maintaining strict safety and environmental compliance.

A high school diploma or GED is required, with travel to sites and occasional overtime expected. Ideal candidates show strong teamwork, good English reading/writing, and a proactive approach to improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs land maintenance: weeds, mowing, raking, sweeping, cleaning.
• Operates landscaping equipment including tractors and mowers.
• Suggests process improvements to the Land Maintenance Supervisor.
• Applies over-the-counter chemicals as directed.
• Applies applicator license credential preferred.
• Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and work orders.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Keeps safety and environment as number one priority and utilizes PPE when required.
• Executes on washing panels utilizing panel washing equipment.
• Performs land maintenance functions as related to vegetation including pulling weeds, mowing, raking, sweeping, and cleaning.
• Operates landscaping equipment including tractors, sitting mowers, push mowers, week whackers, and other required land maintenance equipment.
• Recognizes process improvements and communicates them to the Land Maintenance Supervisor.
• Applies over the counter chemicals (e.g. Round Up, fertilizer, etc) as directed.
• Applicator license credential preferred.
• Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office suite, email, expense reporting, and work order management systems.

Education / Experience

• Possess high school diploma or GED.

Working Conditions

• Outdoor work at solar power plants that includes some windy, dusty, and high heat conditions.
• Driver’s License preferred and/or ability to travel to site.
• Requires standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, twisting, climbing stairs and ladders, and entering plant equipment to access, inspect, or collect data on plant equipment
• Requires use of wear personal protective safety equipment (respirators, safety glasses, hard hat, appropriate footwear, ear plugs, etc.)
• May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials and chemicals
• Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Work overtime and non-standard working hours as required
• Occasional travel in CA.

Compensation

• Commensurate with experience; competitive.

The expected salary for this position, at commencement of employment, is between $21.00 and $25.29/per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position also includes annual bonus. The benefits offered for this position are: medical, dental, and vision coverage, life insurance, 401(k) eligibility, and paid time off (including vacation, sick leave time, and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if a candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
