Work Arrangement: Onsite; projects generally within 20–30 miles of the office
Position Overview
An established landscaping and outdoor construction company is seeking a hands‑on Land Foreman to lead crews and oversee residential and commercial landscape construction projects.
This role is ideal for someone with strong hardscape and softscape knowledge who can coordinate crews, manage jobsite activities, and keep projects moving efficiently from start to finish.
The company specializes in custom outdoor living spaces, including patios, paver installations, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, pergolas, planting, and other landscape construction features. With an established operation and access to an affiliated supply company on‑site, crews have convenient access to the materials they need to keep projects moving.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise crews of approximately three employees, providing direction and hands‑on support as needed.
- Oversee daily jobsite operations, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate schedules, labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and client communication.
- Monitor project progress and respond quickly to weather changes, jobsite challenges, and customer requests.
- Operate equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators when needed.
- Manage one primary project at a time, with occasional responsibility for multiple projects.
- Oversee projects ranging from approximately $300,000 to $600,000, with typical durations of two to six months.
- Maintain clear communication with management, team members, subcontractors, and clients.
- Help ensure crews stay productive, organized, and focused on deadlines.
Required Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in hardscape or landscape construction.
- At least 2 years of experience as a foreman, crew leader, or similar supervisor, leading crews of three or more.
- Experience with landscape installation and outdoor construction—not solely mowing or maintenance.
- Ability and willingness to operate equipment such as skid steers and mini excavators.
- Knowledge of hardscape installation, including patios, pavers, walkways, retaining walls, masonry, or outdoor living features.
- Strong scheduling, coordination, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- A proactive, dependable work style with a strong sense of urgency and ownership.
Preferred Qualifications
- Background with a design‑build landscaping company, hardscape contractor, or outdoor living builder.
- Familiarity with scheduling software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience coordinating materials, subcontractors, clients, and changing project requirements.
Compensation and Benefits
- Annual salary of $65,000–$85,000, depending on experience.
- Monthly health insurance reimbursement assistance; the amount varies based on individual circumstances and policy needs.
- 401(k) eligibility after one year, with a 4% match.
- Three days of PTO during the first year, increasing to two weeks after three years.
- Holiday time off, including a two-week period around Christmas and New Year's, as well as Thanksgiving and Memorial Day.
