Job summary

VHB is seeking a Land Development Senior Project Manager in Vermont to lead site/civil engineering for a diverse portfolio including ski resorts, real estate, energy, infill development and municipal infrastructure.

The role requires coordinating with integrated teams of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects, and entails managing design development, permitting and construction documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required; Master's degree is a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience).
  • 11+ years of professional site/civil design engineering experience, including consulting/private sector, required.
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license required.

ABOUT THE POSITION

Land Development Senior Project Manager | Hybrid | VT

VHB's growing VT offices are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Land Development group. The successful candidate will work with our team of professionals to manage all aspects of site/civil engineering for public and private sites for our diverse portfolio of ski resort, real estate, energy, infill development, and state and municipal infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Work independently with integrated teams of engineers, environmental scientists, and landscape architects in developing site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude and public and private projects with a focus on sustainability and resiliency
  • Lead and assist with civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site layout
  • Preparation and/or reviewing of design criteria, drawings and specifications
  • Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation
  • Lead the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents
  • Lead, mentor and train junior staff
  • Project task financial performance, and management of projects
  • Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues
  • Technical and design report writing

  • Knowledge of local and state regulations governing site design

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field of study required, Master's degree a plus (may substitute for 1 year of experience)
  • 11+ years of professional site/civil design engineering experience, including consulting/private sector experience, required
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D and HydroCAD required, GIS experience a plus
  • PE (Professional Engineer) license required
  • Solid understanding of the typical land entitlement process in VT including permitting at the local and state level preferred

The full-time annual base salary range for this position, located in Vermont, is $125,000 to $160,000. The base salary offered will be determined based on job-related factors, including geographic location, internal equity, experience, credentials, skills, education, work schedule, and other factors permitted by law. The posted salary range reflects base pay only. Additional compensation and benefits available to eligible employees are outlined in our Total Rewards Program.

Annual base salary is one component of VHB's Total Rewards package. In addition to base pay, eligible employees may receive annual incentive compensation bonuses, spot bonuses, and merit-based salary increases, providing opportunities to increase earnings beyond base pay.
