Job summary

The Viera Company is seeking a Land Development Project Manager to lead complex development initiatives from concept through completion in Florida. You will own schedules, budgets, permitting, and construction while collaborating with internal teams, consultants, and contractors to deliver high-quality neighborhoods and amenities.

You will manage permitting, platting, regulatory compliance, and project reporting, and coordinate with agencies to secure approvals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in civil engineering, urban planning, construction management, or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in land development, construction, or project management.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Professional certifications such as PE, PMP or similar are strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of land development projects including planning, permitting, budgets, schedules, and construction.
• Maintain project documentation and reporting with contracts, notices, schedules, financials, and status updates.
• Manage permitting, platting, and regulatory compliance with agencies and internal teams.
• Oversee on-site execution and close-out through site visits, inspections, and issue resolution.
• Coordinate stakeholders, utilities, and project turnovers; support handoffs to community and agencies.
• Identify and resolve project risks and compliance issues; monitor construction testing.
• Support senior leadership with schedules, documentation, and development status reporting.

Job description

Land Development Project Manager at The Viera Company plays a pivotal role in shaping one of Florida's premier master-planned communities. From concept through completion, you'll lead complex land development projects that bring new neighborhoods and community amenities to life. This highly visible role provides end-to-end ownership of schedules, budgets, permitting, and construction actives while partnering with internal stakeholders, consultants, and contractors to deliver exceptional results.

• Own end ‑ to ‑ end delivery of assigned land development projects, managing planning, permitting, budgets, schedules, construction, and cross ‑ functional teams to deliver on time, on budget, and to quality standards.
• Maintain project documentation and reporting, preparing contracts, notices, schedules, financials, and status updates to ensure organization, compliance, and clear stakeholder communication.
• Manage permitting, platting, and regulatory compliance, coordinating with agencies, consultants, and internal teams to secure approvals and oversee NPDES and stormwater requirements.
• Monitor on ‑ site execution and project close ‑ out through site visits, inspections, and field issue resolution in coordination with Construction, consultants, and senior leadership.
• Coordinate stakeholders, utilities, and project turnovers, resolving issues, managing dry utilities, and supporting community and agency handoffs.
• Identify, elevate, and resolve project risks and compliance issues, overseeing construction testing and partnering with leadership and project teams to maintain smooth execution.
• Support senior leadership by coordinating schedules, documentation, and development status reporting, and preparing clear illustrations, tables, and maps.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required; degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, Construction Management, or a related field preferred
• 5+ years of experience in land development, construction, or project management
• Valid driver's license required
• Professional certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), Project Management Professional (PMP), Procore (Owner or Project Manager), and/or Portfolio Financials strongly preferred
