  • 5+ years of experience managing land development projects.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specs and drawings.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, or related field.
  • Strong communication, leadership and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience coordinating field operations and budgets for residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.

Responsibilities

  • Review and approve contractor and vendor invoices.
  • Coordinate inspections and resolve deficiencies in a timely manner.
  • Identify project risks and implement corrective actions when needed.
  • Review project schedules, budgets, cost forecasts, and resource allocations.
  • Manage project documentation, change orders, and contractor performance.
  • Manage land development projects from preconstruction through project closeout.
  • Maintain accurate project records and provide regular progress updates to leadership.
  • Collaborate with builders, consultants, surveyors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Monitor construction progress and ensure work complies with approved plans and specifications.
  • Monitor jobsite safety and ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Manage punch-list activities, final inspections, project closeout documentation, and bond release processes.
  • Coordinate field activities including site inspections, utility installations, grading operations, and infrastructure improvements.

Job description

Our client is seeking a Field Operations Project Manager to oversee residential, commercial, and mixed-use development projects from preconstruction through project completion.

This role is responsible for coordinating field operations, managing project schedules and budgets, supporting contractor oversight, and ensuring construction activities comply with approved plans, specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. The position requires regular field presence and close collaboration with contractors, consultants, surveyors, utility providers, and internal stakeholders.

  • 5+ years of experience managing land development projects.

  • Experience supporting residential, commercial, or mixed-use developments.
  • Experience managing project budgets, schedules, contracts, and change orders.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and engineering drawings.
  • Experience working with contractors, consultants, utility providers, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of site development, utility construction, grading, infrastructure, and construction sequencing.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Business Management, or a related field.
Preferred Skills:
  • Knowledge of local permitting, inspections, and development regulations.
  • Experience with public infrastructure improvements, roadway construction, or utility coordination.
  • Experience with master-planned communities, mixed-use developments, or large-scale residential projects.
  • Familiarity with project management and construction software such as Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera, or similar platforms.
Work Environment:
  • Primarily field-based position requiring regular site visits.
  • Frequent walking on active construction sites and uneven terrain.
  • Work may require exposure to varying weather conditions.
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE) required during site activities.
  • Availability for early morning construction coordination meetings may be necessary.
