STV is currently seeking a Land Development Civil Engineer for its Buildings group in Owings Mills, MD, which is currently the civil engineer of record for high-profile projects such as Harborplace and Baltimore Peninsula in Baltimore, MD. The candidate will collaborate on a wide variety of projects including conceptual master plans, schools, mixed‑use, office buildings, industrial buildings, housing/apartment projects, commercial buildings, and civil/site structures. The position will allow the individual to collaborate with our civil design team preparing documents associated with a wide variety of land development projects within the Baltimore Metropolitan area. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and be a licensed professional engineer. Experience with MicroStation, Civil 3D or AutoCAD is strongly preferred.

Key Responsibilities
- Prepare construction documents, permit packages, and support construction services.
- Utilize design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, HydroCAD, Hydraflow Hydrographs, ArcGIS) to create construction drawings, layouts, and models for land development projects.
- Conduct site investigations and assessments to support design decisions.
- Develop sustainable and innovative solutions for site layouts, stormwater management, grading, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.
- Prepare design calculations, technical reports, and feasibility studies.
- Coordinate with regulatory agencies to secure permits and approvals.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and other engineers to integrate site design with overall project goals.
- Participate in client meetings and presentations to discuss project requirements and progress.
- Support project managers by monitoring budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
- Stay current with industry trends, technology, and best practices to enhance project quality.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (required).
- Professional Engineering License (required).
- 4+ years of experience in civil/site design, land development, or a related field.
- Familiarity with site development principles, including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and erosion/sediment control.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and/or MicroStation.
- ArcGIS and Hydraflow Hydrographs, HydroCAD experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to lead permitting processes in Maryland jurisdictions (Baltimore City experience a plus).
- Strong problem‑solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to progress multiple projects simultaneously.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for client and team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
