Job summary

Davis, Bowen & Friedel, Inc. is seeking a Civil Engineer - Land Development for Centreville, Maryland. This in-person role focuses on planning, designing, and overseeing land development projects including water and sewer systems, roads, and stormwater facilities.

The ideal candidate holds a four-year civil engineering degree, 4+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD. A Delaware PE license or ability to obtain within 12 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• A four-year civil engineering degree is required.
• Minimum of four years of related experience.
• PE license in Delaware or ability to obtain within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Utilize design software, CAD, and other applicable tools to plan, design, and permit projects such as water distribution, sanitary sewer, roadway and entrance designs, streetscape improvements, and stormwater conveyance/management for residential and commercial sites, including subdivisions.
• Coordinate with private contractors and clientele with plan reviews, project planning, and coordination with regulatory agencies.
• Perform civil design analysis and calculations according to project requirements.
• Plan projects based on the analysis of materials such as drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, survey reports, and geologic/topographical data.
• Draft and present reports on topics related to projects such as stormwater reports and right-of-way descriptions.
• Estimate materials, equipment, and labor needed to determine project costs.
• Coordinate permitting with local agencies.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
