Job summary

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in a BS program in GIS, Land Management, Environmental Science, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Forestry, Computer Science, Conservation, Geology, or related fields.
  • Completion of at least sophomore year by summer 2027.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating and maintaining land ownership, leases, easements, and other records using GIS tools
  • Create maps and spatial data visualizations for internal projects and mine planning
  • Support mobile GIS fieldwork and digital file organization
  • Help manage residential leases, land use licenses, and easements
  • Participate in land acquisition evaluations and strategic land classification
  • Support property tax tracking and reporting
  • Assist in maintaining and improving Land Management Systems (LMS) platforms
  • Digitize and organize land‑related legal documents
  • Collaborate with Legal, Environmental, Civil, and Business Development teams
  • Assist in preparing land‑related cost forecasts and budgets
  • Various other duties as assigned to support the business

As a Land Administrator Intern at Cleveland‑Cliffs, the projects assigned will vary based on the intern’s education level and location, but will generally reflect the duties outlined below.

Summary of Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications
