Land Acquisition Analyst
About the Job:
We’re seeking a Land Acquisition Analyst to support land acquisition activities for a leading residential homebuilding organization in the Denver market. This role is responsible for evaluating land opportunities, conducting financial analysis and due diligence, preparing acquisition materials, and supporting the land acquisition team throughout the transaction process.
This opportunity is with an established residential homebuilding organization focused on identifying and acquiring high-quality land for future communities. The Land Acquisition Analyst will play a key role in analyzing potential opportunities, supporting underwriting, conducting market research, and collaborating with internal teams and external partners.
The ideal candidate is an analytical real estate professional with experience in land acquisition, land development, residential real estate, financial analysis, or homebuilding. This individual will have the opportunity to support residential growth and land acquisition initiatives throughout the Denver market.
What You’ll Do:
Land Acquisition & Analysis:
- Evaluate potential residential land acquisition opportunities throughout the Denver market.
- Analyze land values, lot counts, development costs, market conditions, and financial feasibility.
- Prepare financial models, underwriting analyses, and acquisition packages for potential opportunities.
- Conduct market research to identify residential land and development opportunities.
- Support due diligence related to zoning, entitlements, utilities, environmental conditions, and development requirements.
- Review purchase agreements, land contracts, development documents, and related materials.
- Track and maintain the division’s land acquisition pipeline.
- Assist with preparing presentations and recommendations for land acquisition decisions.
Project Coordination & Execution:
- Partner with land acquisition, land development, finance, construction, and operations teams.
- Coordinate with brokers, developers, consultants, municipalities, and other external stakeholders.
- Support the due diligence and acquisition process from initial evaluation through closing.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, financial analyses, and acquisition updates.
- Assist with identifying risks, opportunities, and potential challenges associated with prospective land acquisitions.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2+ years of experience within land acquisition, land development, real estate finance, homebuilding, or a related field.
- Strong financial analysis, underwriting, and analytical skills.
- Understanding of residential land acquisition and development processes.
- Experience evaluating land opportunities, development costs, and project feasibility.
- Ability to analyze market data, financial models, and real estate development information.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Residential homebuilding or land development experience preferred.
