Job description

The Henry Ford is a nonprofit organization, an internationally recognized cultural destination, and a one-of-a-kind workplace. As a Food Service Associate at Lamy’s Diner, you will be responsible for greeting guests in a historic 1947 diner, providing an outstanding guest experience. Additional responsibilities will include cashier duties, bussing, and working the soda fountain. This is an excellent opportunity to work in hospitality without the late nights that most restaurant positions require. Lamy’s Diner is located within the Henry Ford Museum of American Innovation.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Performs opening and closing tasks as assigned
  • Handles cash accurately and efficiently
  • Possesses knowledge of menu descriptions and can effectively communicate them to guests
  • Ensures an outstanding guest experience
  • Interacts and communicates with guests and co-workers in a professional and friendly manner
  • Assumes responsibility for the cleanliness of assigned areas in keeping with the Department of Health & Sanitation guidelines
  • Adheres to department rules and policies at all times
  • Acts as a team player
  • Serves food in a variety of daily food services operations
  • Performs other activities as necessary
