Job summary

Two Eighteen is seeking a skilled laminating team member to join our on-site shop floor in Las Vegas. The candidate will apply HPL to various substrates, interpret build plans, and ensure precise, high-quality results for cabinets, countertops, and displays.

A strong background in architectural millwork and cabinet fabrication is essential, along with the ability to lift 75 pounds and operate common woodworking tools.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in HPL lamination, architectural millwork, or cabinet/countertop fabrication
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Experience in tradeshows and exhibits is a plus

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, glue, and apply HPL sheets to cabinets, countertops, panels, and displays
• Prepare substrates and apply contact adhesives for strong, bubble-free bonds
• Use laminate trimmers, routers, files, and sanders to achieve smooth seams and clean edges
• Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and build plans for accurate dimensions
• Inspect finished pieces for defects before final assembly
• Operate standard woodworking tools safely and keep the work area clean
• Record materials issued against work orders or tickets
• Identify bottlenecks and implement solutions without prompting
• Enter daily time and attendance in logs

Members of the laminating team cover multiple sub straights, primarily MDF and plywood, in all different shapes and sizes in HPL (high pressure laminate). As part of a larger production team, this team also participates in different department tasks to assist in the completion of any scope of work.

Description

Responsibilities

• Cut, fit, glue, and apply HPL sheets to horizontal and vertical surfaces (cabinets, countertops, panels, and architectural displays)
• Prepare substrates properly and apply contact adhesives to ensure strong, bubble-free bonds and clean finishes with tight seams
• Use laminate trimmers, routers, files, and sanders to achieve smooth seams, sharp edges, and clean corners
• Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and build plans to ensure accurate dimensions and specs
• Inspect finished pieces for defects, gaps, or adhesive issues before passing them to final assembly
• Operate standard woodworking tools safely and keep the work area clean.
• Ability to use table saw, routers, sanders and most importantly, files is a must
• Record materials issued, used, or returned directly against specific job tasks, work orders, or service tickets as work happens
• Demonstrates a proactive mindset by identifying operational bottlenecks and implementing solutions without prompting.
• Timely entry of daily electronic time clock logs

Experience

• 5 years of experience in HPL lamination, architectural millwork, or cabinet/countertop fabrication
• Ability to lift 75 pounds
• Experience in tradeshows and exhibits is a plus
