Job summary

Quanex Building Products Corp. is seeking an Extruder Operator Trainee to join the Lamination team at Winnebago, Illinois. The role runs laminating machinery to produce window and door parts in accordance with customer specs and minimal waste.

The 1st shift (6:45 am–3:15 pm) offers a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with opportunities for overtime and growth through on-the-job training.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous experience operating machinery within a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Good reading ability and basic math skills, including reading blueprints and other manufacturing documentation.
• Basic computer proficiency to log into systems and enter data accurately.

Responsibilities

• Run and maintain assigned lamination machines.
• Produce quality window and door parts with minimal waste.
• Perform quality checks and maintain strict tolerances.
• Change out fixtures in a timely manner to maintain steady production.
• Identify and address defects to prevent defects reaching customers.
• Follow safety procedures and report any safety concerns.
