Job summary

Packrite HP in High Point, NC is seeking a Laminating Department Lead to oversee a safe, efficient, and quality-driven laminating operation on the production floor. The role supports production supervisors by ensuring laminators are set up, operated, and monitored to meet internal standards and customer requirements.

You will coach operators, verify materials and machine settings, monitor warp and bonding, and develop SOPs.

Qualifications

Minimum 5 years of laminator or corrugator experience in a corrugated manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of board construction, adhesives, coatings, and moisture control.
Experience troubleshooting warp, bonding failures, and quality defects.
Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to work hands-on on the production floor.

Responsibilities

Lead laminating safety practices and ensure guards and safety devices are in place.
Develop and manage laminator production performance with minimal downtime.
Monitor board flatness, warp, bonding strength, and adhesive application.
Lead pre-production reviews and verify materials and machine settings.
Coach operators on operation, quality expectations, and efficiency.
Maintain SOPs, document downtime, waste, and labor, and report issues promptly.
Spend the majority of time on the production floor and be flexible for off-shift work.
