Job summary

A youth camp in Maine is seeking staff for Waterfront and Swim Positions to teach swimming to campers. Responsibilities include supervising recreation swims, enforcing safety, and living with campers. Ideal candidates have swim or lifeguard experience and can work collaboratively in a flexible environment. Training and certification will be provided before the camp season begins, ensuring readiness for teaching swimming and best practices on the waterfront.

Qualifications

• Previous swim or lifeguard experience is preferred.
• Ability to work collaboratively with a team in a flexible environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming lessons to campers.
• Oversee recreation swims and enforce safety procedures.
• Live with campers and act as a positive role model.
• Supervise and encourage campers in non-competitive programs.
• Instruct in at least one activity area such as sailing, canoeing, or climbing.
