CMA Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with daily activities (bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, eating) while promoting dignity and independence.
  • Monitor and report changes in resident condition, including behavior, appetite, and participation in activities.
  • Respond promptly to call bells and emergencies.
  • Administer and document medications accurately, following safety protocols.
  • Maintain cleanliness in resident suites and common areas.
  • Support meal service and report significant changes in appetite.
  • Engage residents in activities and social interactions.
  • Ensure confidentiality of resident information and follow all hygiene and infection control procedures.
  • Perform basic health checks (blood pressure, pulse, temperature).
  • Complete other assigned duties as needed.

Qualifications

  • Working experience at senior care facilities.
  • A High School Diploma or General Education Degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Requires a Certified Medication Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs on a regular basis and physically able to help residents who require physical assistance.
  • Read, write, speak and understand the English language.
