Job summary

Career Movement is seeking a principal data engineer to rebuild its data platform from the ground up, using Python, SQL, Snowflake, Kafka, Iceberg, and Trino. This hands-on IC role will influence architecture, design modern lakehouse patterns, and stand up streaming pipelines handling tens of millions of events daily.

You will help set technical standards, guide streaming and batch pipelines, and drive durable data contracts across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on data engineering experience.
• Strong current skills in SQL, Python, Kafka, and dbt.
• Real experience with streaming or event-driven pipelines.
• Medallion architecture experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and build a next-generation data platform spanning batch, streaming, and event-driven pipelines.
• Lead the adoption of modern data lakehouse patterns and durable data contracts.
