Job summary

Discovery Land Company is seeking a Steward for the Culinary Department at Homewood Mountain & Lake Club in the Lake Tahoe area. The role focuses on maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in kitchens and back-of-house areas, supporting setup, service, and breakdown for events, and contributing to the overall guest experience.

Ideal candidates have culinary experience and a culinary degree or certification, with knowledge of federal, state, and local food safety regulations.

Qualifications

• Understand and abide by all federal, state, and local food safety and sanitation regulations, including state required food handler certificates.

Responsibilities

• Keeps all food preparation areas meticulously clean and tidy.
• Maintains safe and sanitary conditions in all food service areas and for all food service equipment.
• Provides courteous and professional service and proper care of kitchen equipment.
• Assists with inventory control of catering equipment and plateware.
• Assists culinary staff as needed and performs side work and other cleaning tasks.
• Communicates with supervisor to ensure tasks are completed.
