Under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Ride Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment & facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing, and repairing system malfunctions. CPO certification a plus, but not required.

Position Overview

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Maintenance, the Ride Maintenance Technician is responsible for the modification, repair, and refurbishment of equipment & facilities of a designated set of amusement rides or devices. Maintenance completes preventative maintenance, testing rides, adjusting controls, diagnosing, and repairing system malfunctions. CPO certification a plus, but not required.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Conduct daily pre-opening inspections of attractions and property.
  • Ability to diagnose and correct mechanical issues.
  • Promptly respond to trouble calls.
  • Maintain the property in a clean, presentable, and safe manner.
  • Perform repairs and service as per the manufacturers requirements.
  • Use of proper PPE depending on job.
  • Maintain all areas in a clean, organized and safe manner.
  • Complete repair work orders in a timely manner.
  • Keep the Maintenance Manager fully informed of any corrective issues needed.

Qualifications

  • Prior maintenance and mechanical experience preferred.
  • Must possess a basic working knowledge in mechanical, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing and carpentry.
  • Ability to read and comprehend ride maintenance manuals.
  • Knowledge of common power and hand tools
  • Ability to perform task-oriented repetitive functions consistently, on-time, and error free.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
  • Demonstrate a team player attitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot clearly, calmly, and safely in the presence of guests and fellow team members.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and have reliable transportation.
  • Must provide own tools including but not limited to screwdrivers, hammers, pry bars, punches, wrenches, standard socket set up to 1 inch, and metric socket set up to 24mm.
  • Follow instructions for daily projects and procedures.
  • Must be able to work all shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays during peak season.
  • Must be willing to work in a cross departmental position when needed.

Working Conditions

  • Requires standing for long periods and walking long distances within the park.
  • Exposure to high noise levels resulting from the rides and power equipment.
  • Constant repetitive motion
  • Continually able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 75 lbs. and on occasion more than 75 lbs.
  • See differences between colors and brightness.
  • See details of objects that are more than a few feet away. Able to tolerate exposure to dust and cleaning chemicals.
  • Able to tolerate heat, humidity, cold, wind, rain and other weather conditions.
  • Work in all areas of the property including working outside.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and may need to reprioritize activities.
  • Subject to working on scaffolds, ladders and manlifts up to 250 ft in height.
  • Subject to the handling of and exposure to grease, oils, chemicals, detergents and cleaners.
  • Subject to exposure to bloodborne pathogens.
  • Regularly work with motorized equipment, vehicles and machinery in a safe manner.
  • Consistent communication with other departments.
