Job summary

Rea Magnet Wire in Lafayette, IN is seeking a proactive Quality Technician to ensure product conformance and support ongoing quality initiatives across our manufacturing sites.

The role requires hands-on testing using specialized equipment, documentation in material review areas, and participation in process audits; you will liaise with operations, scheduling, CSR's, and distribution to drive corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct all conformance testing of Level 4 Process Quality Technician, e.g. laser mike, dielectric tester, dissipation pot, Tg tester, Tinius Olsen, manual elongator, Techrand tester, and other equipment as specified.
• Demonstrated ability to meet core requirements in testing knowledge, ability, and competency.
• Meet or exceed performance metrics as defined by department supervisor and/or manager.
• Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook)
• Ability to work with all levels of people in achievement of plant objectives.
• Understanding of key problem-solving techniques.
• Ability to conduct effective audits.

Job Summary

• Test product per required standards.
• Perform process and product audits.
• Process and document product in material review area.

• Provides conformance testing and process audits/validation activities.

• Involvement and completion of projects as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Starting at $24.00/hour

Schedule: 12-hour shift that follows a 2-2-3 pattern (static shifts available - nights (8p to 8a); half year scheduled off!)

Desired Qualifications

• Knowledge of oven enamel process.
• Experience in a manufacturing or laboratory environment
• Certifications for forklift and ability to operate hand-truck and hoists.
• Understanding of basic IATF requirements and Automotive requirements
• ASQ-Certified Quality Technician
• ASQ-Certified Calibration Technician

Physical Demand And Work Environment

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the manufacturing site including high temperatures. The noise level in the work environment may be loud.

• Work Environment: The employee will occasionally be exposed to Cold Temperatures <55 degrees and Heat >100 degrees. The environment is well lit; The noise level in the environment is loud due to exposure and use of fork trucks, but employee may be exposed to higher than 85 decibels on occasion, hearing protection is required.
