A leading research institute is seeking a Climate & Agrarian Justice Student Research Assistant to contribute to projects on climate sustainability and community engagement. The role requires strong research and interpersonal skills, focusing on climate justice frameworks and collaboration with impacted communities. This position is remote with flexible hours, ideal for a UC Berkeley undergraduate who meets the LAEP/work-study eligibility.

Duration: Fall 2025 & Spring 2026
Location: Remote
Hours: 7 hours/week (17.5% FTE)
Position: Climate & Agrarian Justice Student Research Assistant (STDT)
Compensation: 1st & 2nd years = $26/hour; 3rd & 4th years = $27/hour
Eligibility: UC Berkeley undergraduate students eligible for LAEP/work-study (must have an LAEP/work-study award of at least $6,000 for the academic year)
The Othering & Belonging Institute is a hub of researchers and community networks focused on creating a world where all people belong, with respect and the right to contribute and demand societal change. The Global Justice Program (GJP) examines structural marginality and promotes global inclusivity, grounded in frameworks of Othering & Belonging and Targeted Universalism, both locally and globally.
Contributing to projects on climate crisis impacts, climate justice, food sovereignty, and global south research, including literature reviews, power mapping, legislative analysis, and engaging with community partners. Active participation in project teams, research briefings, and presentations is expected.
