Job summary

Terros Health is seeking a LADDER Peer Support Specialist for the Desert Cove Health Center in Phoenix, AZ. This full-time role delivers recovery-focused support, mentor guidance, and group activities to clients with co-occurring disorders.

You will collaborate with clinicians and health technicians, coordinate transportation, and help connect clients to community services. Must have lived experience and a relevant certification or the ability to obtain one quickly.

Qualifications

  • Minimum combination of High School Diploma or GED.
  • At least 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
  • Arizona Peer Certification preferred or able to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome and orient clients to the LADDER program and clinic.
  • Establish therapeutic relationships to mentor and model recovery goals.
  • Plan and facilitate activities, groups, and recovery sessions.
  • Document services per agency guidelines and best practices.
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and community outreach.

As a recovery support specialist, you will be providing a wide range of direct support to assist clients in reaching their recovery goals. You will work closely with your colleagues including clinicians and behavioral health technicians. Flexibility, dependability and teamwork are the fundamental principle of a successful peer support specialist in the LADDER program. Good communication skills, evidenced by a non-judgmental approach, effective listening and positive interactions. Understanding of recovery principles and the ability to utilize personal experience to benefit others.Basic computer skills such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, electronic medical record experience, NextGen preferred.Must be able to pass the Arizona Department of Child Safety Direct Service Central Registry Clearance process.Must have valid Arizona driver’s license, be 21 years of age with minimum 3 years driving experience, and meet requirements of Terros Health’s driving policy.Must have a valid Arizona Fingerprint Clearance card or apply for an Arizona fingerprint clearance card (Level 1) within 7 working days of assuming role.Must pass a TB Test.Physical demands of this position are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
