Job summary

Ideal Option PLLC in the Albuquerque, NM area is seeking a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centered SUD counseling in both in‑person and virtual settings, including medication-assisted treatment and comprehensive assessments.

You will document thoroughly in the EHR, coordinate care with medical staff and external partners, ensure regulatory compliance (HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2), participate in team meetings, and pursue ongoing professional

Qualifications

• 2-5 years' experience in a healthcare setting.
• Experience with personal computers (word processing and/or electronic spreadsheets).
• LADAC license required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive SUD assessments and evaluations
• Administer and document standardized screening tools (PHQ-9, GAD-7)
• Provide individual counseling using evidence-based approaches
• Coordinate care with medical providers and external partners
• Document time spent, assessments, treatment plans, progress notes and referrals in the EHR
• Ensure all documentation meets regulatory, payer and organizational standards
• Participate in clinical team meetings, supervision and case consultations
• Adhere to New Mexico licensing laws, ethical standards and LADAC scope of practice
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
• Engage in ongoing professional development and required continuing education
