Job summary

Hilmar Cheese Company, Inc. is seeking a Functional Products Operator to lead the production of lactoferrin, from liquid to dried form and packaging for delivery to customers.

The role requires knowledge of milk components, CIP, and cross-functional teamwork to maintain food safety and sanitation. Candidates should have a High School diploma or GED, SAP experience, and dairy manufacturing background; training and safety responsibilities are emphasized.

Qualifications

• English proficiency to understand, read, write and speak.
• Able to work 12-hour variable shifts, including weekends, holidays and overtime as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 60lbs
• Basic computer skills
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution
• SAP experience
• Dairy manufacturing experience
• Experience as on the Job Trainer
• Active/past member of departmental safety team

Responsibilities

• Work closely with Milk receiving supervisors for milk availability and milk components accuracy.
• Responsible for having a thorough understanding of milk components and efficiency with Dia Filtration units.
• Responsible for communicating issues related to the above responsibilities to the production team.
• Lactoferrin Operator may not work in other areas other than Lactoferrin in the same shift.
• Requires flexibility in day to day tasks.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• Knowledge of our CIP program.
• Active participation and ownership in your training and development program and associated activities, classes and events, which will be held before, during, after shifts and during scheduled days off.
• Help coach and train teammates and participate in on the job, buddy training.
• Place high priority on food safety and sanitation by understanding and executing HCC's food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
• Communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates as well as participating in food safety and sanitation root cause analysis and improvement activities when required.
