Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate of Nursing with two years lactation experience
• TX Registered Nurse license upon hire
• Basic Life Support (CPR) upon hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program upon hire
• International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) upon hire

Responsibilities

• Educate mothers with evidence-based lactation guidance prenatally and postpartum
• Assess breastfeeding technique and milk transfer; provide recommendations
• Document observations and care plans in patient records
• Ensure adherence to milk collection, storage, and transport policies
• Assess maternal medications and compatibility with breastfeeding
• Participate in ongoing education and staff development
