Responsibilities

• Plans, teaches and evaluates classes for expectant and new breastfeeding mothers.
• Creates a learning-friendly environment for staff and patients.
• Performs bedside lactation rounds daily.
• Consults with mothers experiencing breastfeeding problems.
• Participates in lactation and maternity service decision-making.
• Selects breastfeeding supplies for retail and rental.
• Educates maternity nursing staff through in-service sessions.
• Delivers lactation services to in-patients and outpatients.
• Runs Parent Education lactation classes.
• Conducts quality assurance for the program.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
