Job summary

Lovelace Health System in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a Lactation Consultant Registered Nurse for day shift, PRN coverage. The role focuses on breastfeeding support for infants and mothers, and developing lactation services for staff, patients, and the community.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate or Diploma in Nursing, NM license or NM compact license, and has trained lactation experience with BLS and NRP. IBCLC eligibility or scheduling within a year is preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s Degree or Diploma of Nursing.
• One year of training and program development experience.
• Valid NM Nursing license or NM compact license (within 90 days of hire).
• Training: Intensified training in lactation.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
• NRP.
• Current IBCLC or IBCLC Exam scheduled within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Applying professional clinical skills to care and management of breastfeeding infants and lactating mothers.
• Developing, promoting and implementing lactation support services to clinical staff, patients and community.
• Adhering to policies, procedures and regulations to ensure patient safety and compliance.

Responsibilities
