Job summary

Henrico, Parham & Retreat Doctors' Hospitals in Richmond, Virginia is seeking a Lactation Consultant in the newly established Mother Baby Unit. The facility includes 35 private rooms focused on family-centered recovery.

Successful candidates will demonstrate expert lactation consulting, coordinate in-house services, and provide comprehensive care to mothers and children. Requirements include a BSN, active RN license, and IBCLC certification, alongside 2 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (BSN preferred).
• Current Registered Nurse license in Virginia or a compact license.
• Current Certification by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners (IBLCE).
• Minimum 2 years of experience with childbearing families or maternal health nursing, with emphasis on lactation.

You will participate in educational activities to maintain competence and develop skills by providing quality care to each patient based on individual needs. We are a hardworking team seeking a phenomenal addition.

Responsibilities

• You will demonstrate expert practice within the scope of lactation consulting with objectivity and with respect for the unique needs and values of individuals.
• Our nursing staff is expected to coordinate and provide in-house lactation services.
• As a Lactation Consultant, providing consultation for simple and complex breastfeeding management situations is required.
• You must function in an organized and time conscious manner.
