Job summary

White Oak Medical Center within Adventist HealthCare is seeking a Lactation Consultant to support new mothers through assessment, plan development, education, and hands-on breastfeeding guidance. You will mentor staff and contribute to a collaborative care environment within a faith-based health system.

The position is part-time with up to 12 hours per week, daytime shifts, and a shift differential. Benefits include a 403(b) retirement plan, free employee parking, and EAP support.

Qualifications

• Must hold nursing licensure in Maryland and be eligible for IBCLC certification within one year.
• Must demonstrate nursing and lactation experience.
• Strong interpersonal and critical thinking skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Role models positive customer service behaviors.
• Assess mother-baby couplet and plan individualized care.
• Provide information and problem-solving to resolve breastfeeding difficulties.
