Job summary

Silver Cross Hospital is seeking a part-time Lactation Consultant to develop, coordinate, and deliver care for newly delivered maternity patients both inpatient and outpatient. The role requires IBCLC certification, CPR, and prior hospital lactation experience.

The position supports inpatient post-partum care and community education, with 12-hour shifts and collaboration with nursing staff. A schedule of day/evening/weekend hours is expected.

Qualifications

• IBCLC certification is required.
• Previous experience as Lactation Consultant in a hospital or clinic setting.
• CPR certification required.
• Must be available for day/evening and weekend shifts (12-hour shifts).

Responsibilities

• Develops, coordinates and delivers lactation care to maternity inpatients and outpatients.
• Collaborates with RNs and other health care staff as appropriate.
• Teaches community breastfeeding education courses.
• See patients in outpatient clinic.

Maintains the standards for IBLCL lactation consultants as delineated by the International Lactation Consultant Association.
