Overview: The Laborer I will perform a variety of tasks to support construction operations, including material handling, site cleanup, and assisting skilled tradespeople. Key Responsibilities

• 1. Material Handling:
  • - Assist with the loading and unloading of construction materials, equipment, and tools, ensuring safe and efficient handling and transportation to designated work areas.
  • - Organize and maintain construction materials, supplies, and equipment on-site, keeping inventory well-organized and accessible to crew members.
• 2. Site Cleanup:
  • - Perform general cleanup and debris removal at construction sites, including sweeping, shoveling, and disposing of waste materials in designated containers or disposal areas.
  • - Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and housekeeping standards.
• 3. Assistance to Skilled Trades:
  • - Provide assistance and support to skilled tradespeople, such as carpenters, ironworkers, and welders, by fetching tools, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • - Assist with simple construction tasks, such as digging trenches, pouring concrete, and setting up scaffolding, under the direction of experienced workers.
• 4. Safety Compliance:
  • - Adhere to all safety protocols, procedures, and regulations, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training sessions.
  • - Report any safety hazards, incidents, or near misses to supervisors immediately and take appropriate corrective actions as directed.
• 5. Equipment Maintenance:
  • - Assist with basic maintenance and cleaning of construction equipment, tools, and machinery, including lubricating moving parts, cleaning surfaces, and performing routine inspections.
  • - Report any equipment malfunctions, damage, or defects to supervisors for repair or replacement.
• 6. Team Collaboration:
  • - Work collaboratively with other crew members, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely completion of construction tasks.
  • - Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to receive instructions, provide updates on work progress, and coordinate activities.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

• - High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• - Prior experience in construction or related field is a plus but not required; on-the-job training will be provided.
• - Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, bend, stoop, kneel, and work in various weather conditions.
