Job description

Under immediate supervision, is responsible for performing routine manual labor; performs related duties as required.

(Any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties that may be performed.)

Responsibilities include:

1. Assisting skilled and semi-skilled workers, construction crews, and maintenance crews in performing daily work assignments;
2. Maintaining areas by mowing, edging, picking up trash, raking leaves, cleaning windows, and removing ice and snow from steps and walkways;
3. Cleaning up work areas after job completion;
4. Planting, weeding, and watering flowers, shrubs, trees, and lawns;
5. Performing minor maintenance on equipment, grounds, and buildings;
6. Lifting and moving heavy materials (e.g., soil, gravel);
7. Driving a vehicle to transport coworkers and/or work materials;
8. Completing simple reports as required by supervisor;
9. Operating powered hand tools such as saws and drills, if trained and qualified.

Qualifications include:

• Any experience and training providing the Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities listed in this job class specification;
• Possession of a valid driver’s license may be required for some positions.
