You will perform general labor duties related to telecommunications construction, including all phases of underground work such as loading, driving, delivery, digging, removal, and placement of various materials and equipment.

What you’ll do as a Laborer Telecom Underground III

• Dig using hand and mechanical tools
• Install and maintain underground telecommunications cabling
• Climb in and out of equipment such as trucks, backhoes, trenchers
• Operate or work around heavy machinery
• Work in congested or remote areas
• Maintain safe coordination with crew members and equipment
• Perform general construction work under supervision
• Maintain safety standards and procedures
• Support small workgroups to meet project goals
• Complete and verify production reports
• Assist with site restoration including grading and landscaping
• Train and mentor Level I and II laborers
• Perform other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• Be 18 years or older
• Authorization to work in the U.S.
• High School Diploma, GED, or relevant experience
• Valid State driver’s license and acceptable driving record
• CDL required
• Pass background check and drug screening
• Attend and pass required training

Additional qualifications

• Proficient in troubleshooting and operating utility trucks and equipment safely
• Ability to read utility maps and interpret prints
• Effective communication skills
• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Willingness to work overtime, nights, weekends, and travel as needed
• Regular and timely attendance

Experience and skills

• 3+ years of utility construction or related experience
• Proven leadership skills
• Ability to perform job duties with a combination of education and experience

Physical & Safety Requirements

• Stand, crouch, sit, bend, reach, lift up to 50 pounds
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Exposed to dust, fumes, chemicals, moving machinery
• Specific vision abilities required

Pay Range: $26.00 - $30.00 per hour, based on experience
