At North Sky Communications, as an Aerial Groundsman/Laborer candidate, you'll have prior knowledge or the ability to learn about established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques, including pole and anchor placement, familiarity with tools and equipment, reading prints/maps, safety rules, and operating instructions.

This position is based out of our Sherwood, Oregon location, with other offices throughout WA, OR, and ID. Visit our website for all locations: www.northskycomm.com. Pay range is DOE: $22-28 per hour for entry-level aerial laborers.

Responsibilities as a Laborer Telecom Aerial

• Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable
• Safely use hand tools and equipment (wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, etc.)
• Operate mechanized equipment (bucket trucks, digger derrick, excavators, etc.)
• Set up safety perimeters with signage, cones, barriers
• Flag traffic as required
• Understand separation and clearance regulations
• Work safely aloft using climbing hooks and ladders
• Work in multiple locations with flexibility
• Travel when required

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old
• Ability to pass background checks, drug tests, DOT physical, and have a valid medical card
• Construction experience, preferably in telecommunications
• Valid driver’s license (CDL preferred)
• Knowledge of aerial cable installation procedures
• Ability to climb poles and work in bucket trucks up to 40 feet
• Lift/carry 50 lbs regularly, up to 100 lbs as needed
• Set up and maintain safe work areas
• Work in all weather conditions

Physical demands and exposures

• Routinely: walk, bend, kneel, lift, sit, climb, push, pull, reach, carry up to 75 lbs, work outdoors in weather
• Occasionally: push, pull, reach, carry up to 75 lbs, sit for long drives

Salary Range: $22 - $28/hour
