Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is hiring a Laborer Telecom Aerial in Taylorville, IL to support an aerial telecom crew installing and maintaining fiber/telecom cables and materials.

This entry-level field position requires 25% travel, a valid drivers license, and a HS diploma or GED. The wage range is $15.00–$20.00 per hour, with benefits including weekly pay, PTO, holidays, 401(k) with company match, and more.

Qualifications

• 18+ years old or older.
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company.
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience.
• Valid state drivers license (no Provisional) with acceptable driving record.
• Certified pole climber or willingness to become certified.
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed

What you’ll need

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse

The wage range for Laborer Telecom Aerial is$15.00 - $20.00.
