Job summary

Ervin Cable Construction, LLC is seeking a Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an Aerial Telecom Crew with installing and maintaining fiber and telecom cables and materials. You will provide tools and materials, move equipment, and prepare job sites daily.

You’ll assist with traffic control, stock and maintain vehicles, perform hand digging, and work in all weather, overtime, travel, and on-call as needed. A valid US work authorization, 18+, and a high school diploma or equivalent are required.

Qualifications

• 18+ years of age or older
• US work authorization
• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record
• Certified pole climber or willing to certify
• Telecommunications labor experience is a plus

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
