Job summary

Star Construction LLC is seeking a Laborer Telecom Aerial in Kentucky to support an aerial telecom crew with installing and maintaining fiber and telecom cables and materials.

The role requires 18+ years old, US work authorization, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver’s license (with clean record). Certification as a pole climber or willingness to obtain it is preferred, and prior telecom labor experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent work experience.
• 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid state driver’s license with clean record; willing to become certified pole climber.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts and materials to crew members as needed.
• Move bucket trucks, trailers or equipment as directed.
• Ensure door-tagging and resident notifications for construction are completed before starting work.
• Stock, clean and maintain company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging with shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow per local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel and on-call/afterhours as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What you’ll do

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed
• Perform work in all weather conditions
• Other duties as assigned

What you’ll need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical abilities & exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
