Job summary

Star Construction LLC is seeking a Laborer Telecom Aerial to support an aerial crew with installation and maintenance of fiber/telecom cables and materials. Candidates should be 18+, authorized to work in the United States, and have a high school diploma or GED.

Responsibilities include supplying tools and parts, repositioning equipment, tagging doors and notifying residents, stocking and maintaining vehicles, and performing hand digging and flagging traffic per DOT guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Authorized to work in the United States.
• Pole climber certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Prior labor experience in telecommunications is a plus.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Provide tools, parts, and materials to crew members as needed.
• Reposition or move bucket trucks, trailers, or equipment as directed.
• Ensure that door-tagging and resident notifications for construction activities are completed before starting work each day.
• Stock, clean, and maintain all company vehicles and equipment.
• Perform hand digging using shovels and mechanical tools.
• Direct/flag traffic flow in line with local DOT guidelines.
• Work overtime, travel, and perform on-call/afterhours responsibilities as needed.
• Perform work in all weather conditions.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Do

What You’ll Need

• To be 18 years of age or older
• Authorization to work in the United States for this company
• High School Diploma, GED equivalent, or relevant work experience
• Valid state driver's license (cannot be Provisional), including an acceptable driving record
• Certified pole climber or be willing to become certified
• Previous labor experience in telecommunications is a plus

Physical Abilities & Exposures

• Routinely: work with arms above shoulder level at heights, in confined spaces and in remote locations, climb stairs, bend, stoop, stand, walk and lift up to 55 pounds, operate vehicle & heavy machinery
• Occasionally: use ladder, keyboard and mouse
